Predavanje o fotoblogih in fotoagencijah
Sorry guys this post is in Slovenian with my lecture on photoblogs.
- potenciali razvoja fotoblogov
Praktični del predavanja:
- B5 bloga o družini Strojan
- B5 postane food photographer
- B5 kot Mladinin fotourednik novači fotoblogerje
Video v quicktime formatu, velikosti 512 pix širine in cca 330 MB težine, si lahko snamete TUKAJ.
PS: MY LECTURE DISAPPEARED FROM VIMEO! SOMEBODY KNOWS WHAT’S GOING ON? sorry…
Fallen border – two years after (Gorizia – Nova Gorica)
In the beginning of the week I did a feature reportage on the former border between Slovenia and Italy. It’s popular to say that border between Yugoslavia and Italy was a part of Iron Curtain, although it doesn’t deserve that name especially if you compare it to the border between Austria and Czechoslovakia. Anyhow border is gone, Nova Gorica and Gorizia are one town again and with journalist Toni Dugorepec we did a story on how is it 60 years after it was split between Italy and Yugoslavia and two years after it’s reunited. It’ll be published in Mladina.
PS: How do you like my new theme and bigger photos?

In Slovenia cigarettes and gasoline are still cheaper then in Italy.

A booth of former police control point is now a place where flowers grow (Slovenian side)
On Monday there was a concert on the border.

Boy sitting on the wall build on the border. Beneath him there is a sign Together on Europa.

The border.

On the border there is a joined city square that half of it is in Slovenia’s Nova Goriza half of it is in Italian Gorica, but it has two different names. Slovenian name for the square is EU square whereas Italian name is Transalpina square.

A night scene on the train station on the former border.

Jure Longyka portraited for Striptiz rubric

jure Longyka, author of famous radio talk show Izštekani (unplugged) in the studio 14 of Radio Slovenia, with punk band Pridigarji from Ormož.
Idea for the picture comes from the title of the show, Izštekani (unplugged), so I decided to play with that connotation. I was a bit uncertain how the shoot will go, because it all depended on Jure and his reaction to be tied but he was great. He is as he sounds very tranquil person. Pridigarji added crucial part to the picture and it does somewhat remind on some biblical scene, isn’t.
Zmago Jeraj, portrait for Striptiz rubric

Zmago Jeraj is really great painter, based in Maribor. I liked his work what I saw on the internet and from invitation to his exhibition. When I visited his exhibition in Umetnostna galerija Maribor and I was persuaded in his mastery. I was thinking long time about the idea for the picture and I came up with this silhouette concept as a metaphor of every picture is artists self portrait. After the portrait we chat for an hour about art. I did the picture already last Monday. This Saturday after Blogres I visited few galleries and I stopped also at Mestna Galeria Ljubljana, where they have really great show From Mercator collection. There are really a lot of paintings, but one winter evening scene caught my attention. It reminded me the feeling I was photographing in my 5am project. I checked who’s the author and guess who it was… Zmago Jeraj.
B5 @ Blogres_08

Yesterday I had a lecture at Blogres. I admit I was nervous as hell. My friend Jure gave me this pdf.
It’s really great lecture on how to do presentations. I had many talks on photography, but I always used some software like Iview to project photographs. I never made a powerpoint presentation. So I decided to make a proper presentation in Keynote. I asked Peter Koraca for help and generous help it was. We made super cooper fancy presentation with many animations and graphically designed by Peter. Unfortunately when I plug in my laptop, it froze, so I used my back up of presentation in pdf format, so I managed to make a presentation but without animation. Fortunately I’m subscribed to Eirik Solheim’s blog (HERE) and Presentation Zen where I get good tips on presentations. + I’m a huge fan of Ted.com and their 20 min passionate presentations.
I learned a lot with my Blogres talk. Got also good feedback. I’m honored to be invited and even more that some people booked my lecture as must see.
I love Keynote and I can’t wait to use all the animation stuff on my Fotopub talk. he, he…
If this is reading also a person from audience who asked me what kind of camera do I use, I didn’t want to make fun of you when I answered color ones, I just didn’t want to advertise Canon 5D, because I might get a Nikon as a sponsor. Perhaps not.
PS: When I was starting to talk about Ambrus story, microphone stoped working. A kind of Dolenjska woodoo magic.
Portrait of Gerd Leonhard at Blogres

Ciao tutti! I just came from Ljubljana, where I had really busy and tight schedule but I succeed to finish everything. Among other things I made also a portrait of Gerd Leonhard. How do you like it? It’s not digitally manipulated. It’s commissioned by Mladina weekly and Jure Aleksič made an interview with him. A quote from his lecture is that in three years all the rulles in new media will be upside down.
Tomorrow I have a talk at Blogress and my presentation is almost finished. With help of Peter Koraca I made it in Keynote and it looks really dandy! I hope it’ll be alright… bit tense though…
I made also a portrait of Jure Longyka before his radio show Izštekani. I’ll publish it on Sunday. Think how would you do it. Keywords: radio, music, unplugged, sound, …

My father – Superman

I was doing some tests for one Striptiz portrait and I used my father as a model.
Radio Ga Ga, portraited for Striptiz rubric

Famous Radio Ga Ga show celebrated it’s 20th anniversary and I asked Sašo Hribar a month ago if they would be interested in making a portrait for my project Striptiz that is published by Mladina weekly. He agreed, but I didn’t had an idea how to make it, so I waited for an inspiration. It came a bit late. I wanted to make a sort of remake of famous The Beatles picture Abbey Road from a year 1969, just that they would carry a life size cut out characters that they are impersonating and it was shot infront of Slovenian parliament. Unfortunately Jure Mastnak was missing.
For the shoot I really had no-time. I did literally 13 shots, it was raining, guys had little time and also a police officer in front of parliament called his colleges and I believed if we would do another walk across the street we would be in trouble.
I gave away all charecters I only kept Rode that was perfect motif for so many images.

Last but not least… After a successful advertisement for C5, her is another one. “C5, not yet Papamobil, but close!”
