I’ve made a portrait of Tomaž Lunder, a photographer. The portrait I’ve done without a preconceived idea, but when I arrived to Škofja Loka, he showed me his studio, his prints and I noted his T-shirt with most reproduced portrait, so I decided to build a picture around that. I put pictures on the floor and he lay down on them. I took a picture from above. It was quite hard to get a straight composition without looking through the camera.
His wife Nives recorded the shooting and I edited in this less then 2min movie.

New Striptiz portrait – Nejc Smodiš and Seba Šeremet

with 6 comments

20090810_0035 Nejc Smodiš (brother of Matjaž Smodiš) and Seba Šeremet are artists from Novo mesto, Slovenia. They are painting, illustrating and making sculptures of fantastic nightmare creatures and when I saw it I wanted to make their portrait for my Striptiz portrait rubric in Mladina weekly.

I’ve “glued” two pictures together. First I’ve shot a picture with Nejc and Seba, illuminating them with a 1sqare meter large softbox. Then Nejc had to leave and on next shot I’ve illuminated the dolls with a torch. Of course camera was on a tripod.

A podcast interview with Ahmet Polat, (Roosendaal, 1978), a young Dutch-Turkish photographer living in Istanbul. Polat has studied at the St. Joost Academy in Breda and currently lectures at the AKI in Enschede and the Marmara University in Istanbul. In 2006, Ahmet Polat won the ICP Young Photographer Infinity Award.

Born of a Dutch mother and a Turkish father, growing up in a small village in the province of Brabant (NL), Polat made photographing diversity his leitmotif. In 2005, shortly after the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, he decided to leave the Netherlands and settle in Istanbul.

After I learned how to do a slideshow, edit music, video and published it on Internet I’ve made this podcast advertisement for Mladina weekly.

I have so much more material to edit from Fotopub. Hopefully until the end of the week.
