Life after death and life before life

Two weeks ago my father in law died in a para-gliding accident in Pogorelec mountain. During a take off he made a mistake and before a parachute was carrying him he seated down on the seat, fell and started to slide on the ground and then roll down the steep, rocky hill. He died on the spot.
With times like these you are faced with question of afterlife. I believe in afterlife. But not like it is written in books. My expectations of afterlife are far more humbler. I can’t believe in God almight and all-merciful. I could believe in God almighty or in God all-merciful, but he/she can’t be both. Or to quote Svetlana Makarovič “Anybody who visited children’s department of oncology hospitable, realizes that there is no God.”
But nevertheless I believe that consciousness if far more complex stuff then our mind can comprehend. Yes, Freud was right, consciousness is a peak of iceberg comparing to our unconsciousness, but I believe that unconsciousness is stretching far beyond a person’s physical existence. As we all know energy is mass and it is indestructible, so I believe in after-life as much as I believe in life before-life. Few billions atoms of my body were few weeks ago just a soil on a field of corn, but now they are here and writing a post of this blog. I wish we could a reconstruct a path of a single atom to it’s birth place – a star.
Of course I don’t believe solely in our physical existence. If you would see my livers hanging in a window shop of a butcher shop, would you say, “Oh Borut, long time no see! How are you doing lately? Obviously not good, he, he…”. Luckily for me, my livers are were they used to be in last 35 years and now they are transcending themselves by writing a post about afterlife. So I believe in afterlife as much as I believe in life before-life and we are just knots in a threads of Universe.
Jože you were far better father in law then you wanted to be and yes, you were right, we don’t exist in this world to be patted and praised, but to be shaped out, just like a water shapes out a stone in a river.

did I mention he’s living in my region of Slovenia?
Video with new camera Nikon D3s
Today there was a press conference on new camera Nikon D3s. I was commissioned by Nikon to do a test with the camera through my daily jobs. I7ll write more about it on Friday when I’ll have more time. As you can see from the movie I’m working many jobs at the same time and today I’m finishing this issue of Mladina weekly and tomorrow I have a lecture at Faculty in Sežana. Friday sounds sunny.
PS: Today at 20:00 in Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana there is an opening of exhibition “Photonic Luminatic – new Slovenian photography and video” and you’re all invited! Few of my pics are there as well.
Igor Bavčar behind the fence
Last week there was a huge media scandal when the richest two men in Slovenia, Boško Šrot and Igor Bavčar were under criminal investigation. With other journalists we were waiting in front of a building where Igor Bavčar and police officers were investigating and we had a chance to photograph them in their path to the car. It was only a couple of dozen seconds, but I’ve managed to catch this picture and it’s published through whole page in Mladina weekly. I love this part of the job that is the closest to “the decisive moment” as it gets.
