Workshop on portrait photography.

Every January I panic! No money, no jobs, phone is dead! But then February comes and I feel like my services are needed. It feels great, like I would have a real job! After a depressing January an avalanche of requests for my workshops happen. My first one was a week ago in Dobova and today I’m starting a series of workshops in Novo mesto. This two were closed workshops, but in a month or so it will be a workshop open for everybody on portrait photography in Ribnica, Slovenia. It will be one day workshop with very low tuition fee, somewhere between 80 and 100EUR, but I’ll tell you more in next few days. Beside that I’ll start teaching at VIST higher school and at Visoka šola za umetnost UNG. So rock and roll February!

Looking for assistants, offering tuttoring / artist to an artist, hour for an hour

I just bought a photoshelter.com account and establish my personal archive with high resolution pictures. Check it out on http://archive.borutpeterlin.com, but don’t limit yourself only on galleries exposed and also try out some keywords in search engine. During the last week I keyworded, captioned and uploaded around 1000 images and I realized I would need a help.

I’m looking for assistants that would be interested in helping me with keywording of my images in return for my tutoring. My plan is to have a group of five people and group will pick what they want to be tutored. Program can stretch from history of photography, illumination tricks, photoshop & lightroom postprocessing, working on projects, presentation and preparation of portfolio, etc…

For an hour of my tutoring a person will do an hour of assisting me with my photoarchive. Tutoring – workshop sessions will be going on in downtown of Ljubljana in IPAK agency or in Novo mesto. Dates and hours to be agreed upon. I will work with Bojan Brecelj a founder of Ipak agency.

Practically everyone can attend workshops in Ljubljana or in Novo mesto but count on devotin 12 hours/ month for photography. That is six for tutoring, six for keywording.

I found this as an interesting experiment that can lead to a good collaboration between professionals and keen photographers. It’s on voluntary basis and you can leave anytime.
