Meditation in a full house of my life
Yesterday we went for a two hours trip in the forest. What I hate during weekends is when we have to have a lunch at 12.00 and my wife makes a whole philosophy conserning the timinig and to express a modest doubt in her words, it basicly means fasting. So, I suggested that since the lunch was already prepared by my mother in law, we should take it into the forest and eat it there. We all agreed and we spend really beutiful time together.
In times like this it makes me think. Years ago I usually took hours and hours for contemplative walks into the forest. I also used to meditate for hours every day, but nowdays when I have so much things to do in my life, I just don’t have time to devide my time of tranquil meditation from a busy stressful time at work. But I’m not complaining at all! Actually I belive it’s much better like that and this is the purpose of meditation, to find peace in mind and then act accordingly.
To meditate alone and experience insights is great, but if you do not apply it into your everyday secular life, you’ve wasted your time. I know a person who is doing meditation for about two decades and visiting guru’s in different places of the world, but he is very intolerant to other people especially to Romas. I’ve told him that he could learn much more from an illiterate Roma then from all Gurus of the world…
