Strojan’s house is demolished.
Around 6am about 200 riot police officers closed the area around Roma settlement and forbid any movement in from Dečja vas to Ambrus village. I almost reached the settlement, but police forbid me to move and drove me back to Dečja vas. Police was constantly repeating that they are doing this for our (journalists) own safety. So we were standing at Dečja vas whole day and the peak of the day was a truck with remains of Roma settlement. Soon I had enough and I wanted to reach Strojan house and I was sneaking through the forest. Around the Roma settlement police were standing in every 10 meters or so. I tried on three different location but police officers were just to densly arranged. Brick house and all other wooden sheds were completly demolished only a shed that used to be a garage was left standing. That shed was covered by polyvinyl foil and in this Strojan will spend their night. While I was shooting pictures I noticed a small firework on the opposite hill. A Minister for Enviornment and Spacial Planing Janez Podobnik gave a statement for national TV that it is on Municipality of Ivančna Gorica to give a decree to allow or forbid Strojan family to live in tents in this forest. Just to remind you that the same municipality council of Ivančna Gorica accepted a drecee forbidding Strojan family to live in their municipality. Of course that has no legal basis whatsoever, but it does give a clue what kind of hatered is governing in Municipality of Ivančna Gorica toward Strojan Roma family.
