Portrait of Zoran Janković, major of Ljubljana

with 4 comments

Yesterday there was another (and I hope the last) protest against Strojan Roma family, but at that time I had to photograph Zoran Janković, major of Ljubljana. It looks like government figure it out how incompetent do they look for not solving the problem, so they’ve offered a good deal to Strojan and they’ve accepted it. We’ll see at the end of this week.

  4. Yes, I had softbox with long exposures. It’s dark already at 19:40 CET. I mean with 200 mm lens and f 1:4, 1/30s that’s really long expousure. The trick is that there is so little light that background does get shaken, but the face (illuminated by crisp bright light of flash in 1/500s) remains sharp and focused. Because background is unsharpened even a little extra shake does not make a difference.

All my Striptiz portraits are about proper mixing of ambient and flashlight. I’ll demonstrate it on Fotopub if you want.
