Workocholic on a holiday

with 20 comments

So many things happening! I’ve set my mind into photography and things are happening with amazing pace. Like I’ve received an email from Haag, where a person saw my picture in Yvi magazine and wants to buy it. I sold a print cheaply for 100 EUR just because it made my day. Rest of the images you can see (and buy) on my DRR account. p1010100_borut_peterlin.jpgp1010101_borut_peterlin.jpgp1010102_borut_peterlin.jpg
Our_car_for_Perpignan is full! Lucky passengers are Katarina Žunič, Ivan Župič and I just received a phonecall from Sarajevo from Zijo Gafić. Zijo is now big time Getty Images photographer and I have many questions for him 🙂

In a new issue of Foto 8 magazine there is a notice of my Striptiz exhibition that will happen in Host gallery in London. I misplaced the issue so I can not make a reproduction §%#&÷\łł… Anyhow photo-editor of D La Repubblica delle Donne contacted me to see more pictures with intention publishing it. She’ll speak with editor in chief on Monday. Fingers crossed!!! Anyway I’m meeting her in Perpignan.
We had a student reunion of Famu student generation 1994 – 1998. We were haging out, but i felt I need to do a group picture with studio lights. Sort of – we’ve learned something… _mg_4335_borut-peterlin.jpg_mg_4332_borut-peterlin.jpg

Last_but_not_least, if you’ll be in Ljubljana you have to see the show by Boštjan Pucelj in Photon Gallery. He is my friend and sure I’m biased, but I belive he is surely one of the best young Slovenian photographers. Paul Lowe said for him he’s Slovenian Stephen Gill and Gill loved his work when he was at Fotopub. Boštjan Pucelj,

  1. Uživite na dopustu! Si ga res zaslužite. 🙂

  2. Proper word is vacation, not holiday.

  3. Takšen pozen dopust je nekaj najboljšega, ko so že vsi doma in delovni, sam pa se prepustiš užitkom…uživajte!

  4. Actually, Iztok, in British English we tend to use “holiday” over “vacation”. “Vacation” was first used by gay farmers in the Carolinas in the US. An example of usage of the word would be ” Y’all might could use a vacation in these parts “. In Britain, for example : Nigel and Seamus just came back from holidays in Prague where they spent most of their time drinking in brothels.

One thing though is to stop using “the” all the time, like ” I must to go to THE new york ” or ” I am going to THE holiday ” or ” I good english speak THE “…

  5. JC, you are right, vacation is American English term, while British English uses term holiday for both. However if it is single day for historical or religious celebration, then it is holiday in both cases 🙂

Correction however in NC “y’all” is singular, you should say “all y’all” if you are referring to more then one person 🙂

  6. Hej guys,

    I’m back from my what’sitcalled time-off-work!

nevertheless I’m getting my stuff together for Perpignan visa pour L’Image festival so I’m keeping it a low blog profile!

  7. Iztok,

Is “y’all” really singular? I suppose it might be but doesn’t mean “you all” as in more then one of you. Is is true that in North Carolina they shave their backs?

P.S Where can I get an emoticon with a happy face and a mullet?

“Y’all is also used in the phrase “all y’all”, which is a more inclusive form comparable to “all of you”.”

  9. That is retarted and amazing at the same time…but mainly retarded.

    3 September, 2007 at 14:46

  10. JC, that is ok. This “retarded” area is experiencing one of the biggest influx of people from rest of the country because it is one of the friendliest and nicest places to live in. On top of it we see second largest banking center quickly becoming the largest banking center in US. We have many universities that make top 500 in the world in this state. I guess people have different definitions of retarded then you.

  11. I guess I need to write a new post so Y’all forget the discussion. In Slovenia some women shave downstairs department and men shave their faces, so I see no problem if in N.C. people shave their backs. And if the people are moving to N.C. let me just add that J.C. just moved to Kosovo.

We do have love different places.

    3 September, 2007 at 16:57

  12. Ah, Kosovo, where women don’t shave their armpits! Yuck!

  13. Hojla, ljubjeni!

Prepričana, da boš najprej čekiral blog iz Perpignana, ti tu gor puščam lupčke od vseh treh žensk!

  14. Borut, Iztok…you need to stop fighting about what is better N.M. or N.C. The war is over! The revolution has passed. Both places are fantastic. N.M. has Ljubjanska Banka, for example, and Lokal Patriot. You cannot put a price on that. N.C. has universities that make it in the world top 500. Akademie Ostrava has ranked 501. Obviously we know where the money is going!
