Borut Križ is an archaeologist and author of fantastic archaeological exhibition in Dolenjski muzej. You have to see it. It’s fantastic. Some pieces are really breath taking. Like necklace of jade. Borut was telling me that this necklace contains micro ornaments visible only when light passes under certain angle. Anyhow the most prominent pieces are SITULA‘s or what is English word for it. . In the word there are 25 situlas. In Novo mesto there are 9 of them. Situlas are really important because they are dated from 8th to 4th Century before Christ and they are first objects where visual art including man and animal was practiced. Each of them is worth between 200.000 ad 300.000 EUR.

The portrait is done on kapiteljske njive, just few hundered meters where I live. On this area all this findings were found.

PS: Which portrait is better?

  2. Nice portrait(as always) and great idea for a shot!
I like the first one better, cause of the colors and composition, though the man seems to be better lit in the second photo.
