President Danilo Türk on a new cover page of Mladina weekly
Here is a new cover page of Mladina weekly. Jure Trampuš did an interview with The President of Slovenia dr. Danilo Türk for tomorrows issue of Mladina weekly. What do you think? Is it too close cropped on the cover? I think it’s good, because it’s so narrowly cropped. I think this one is good because it’s not an usual image of the president, so that’s why it’s interesting. And I must say I’m proud on one more cover page with my picture. Mladina is one of rare magazines that number of sold issues is raising and I fancy the idea that cover pages play important role in it.
Considering the portrait. It’s hard to photograph the president during the interview. I use flashes with large softbox so every shot disturbs the conversation. The key question is how much shots do you have until you become a burden to a journalist and a person being interviewed. Oh, yes then their is also president’s PR person that is giving you hard time during portraiture. President’s PR person Tomo Juvan is OK, but I know some PR personnel that make your day miserable. Anyhow I shot about 45 images during 60 minutes of interview, but my record was an interview with Janez Janša where I’ve shot 17 images in 60 minutes. My point is that every shot must be technically perfect, because that shot it might be the last shot, because the person being portrayed would say that’s enough and your only answer would be “Thank you!”
