Samo Rovan is a wedding photographer who won Emzin’s Photography of the year contest in Slovenia. When I started to think how should I do the picture, I thought on the famous picture of Arthur Trees, The Actor, 1973 Arthur_Tress_the_Actor_1973 From the beginning I wanted to remake a chaos and ridicules situations that occur on all weddings. I had several variation of the idea and even in the morning of the shoot I simplified the scenario.

So this are two results. Which one do you prefer?

I thank Samo and Kaja for their patience, Krinolina for the dresses and MOL for letting us photograph in their wedding hall.
Here are some pics from the shoot by Samo & Kaja.

PS: I was asked how did I made a montage that they are holding their hands. If you carefully plan, it’s really easy! I used my hand and I marked exact the spot where hands meet and where the arm should be.

  1. nice image…there was the same concept taken of wayne gretzky, the hockey star, where he was in a restaurant and everyone in the restaurant was him…waiters, cooks, all of them doing something different…you like hockey no? you like that? man on skates…no?

  3. I haven’t saw the Gretzky image, but the idea is nothing new. Rebekka from Island is did many great images in this niche. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/sets/1058377/

  5. Hehehehe… Why didn’t you find some prettier bride?
Very good looking portrait. One could tell at first look that he has some issues with wedding photography.
My favorite: guy between chairs 🙂

  6. Superca! Res duhovito in super izvedba!!! 🙂

  8. Great photo! I love the idea and the way you pulled it of – especially all of the Samo’s taking photographs 🙂

I prefer the first one, seems like most people here do.

  16. Attack of the Samos. 🙂 Dobr si se potrudu Borut. Še hujša fora bi bla, če bi si izmenjala prstane! 😉

  17. Dbest.
So fleši na nekaterih aparatih dodani umetno ali…?
