Carbon Print from a Film Negative / vlog #81

In the vlog #81 I’ve learned that I can’t push expired film to the density I would want to see. From the fresh film I’ve easily got a good negative and from that negative I’ve made a great carbon print. Now I’ll make a carbon kits and send them to my greatest supporters from Patreon.com, so they can make a carbon print for themselves. Soon it’ll be available for the public.

Film developers Kodak D-76 vs. Rodinal vs. FX-1 vs.Pyrocat HD

After the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, after the Matrix film triology, we finally have the triology on film developers! This vlog features two old developers, Rodinal and Kodak D-76 side by side with a new guns FX-1 and Pyrocat!

Oh, what a fortune that is! Enjoy the vlog and share your opinion on the topic, so others (me included) can learn from it. This research took way too much time and I do not know why I am always surprised on the amount of work that takes to make it through. But I’ve done it. I hope you will like it.

Film developers D-76, Rodinal, FX-1 and Pyrocat HD / Vlog 58

In this vlog I’ve mixed film developers Kodak D-76, FX-1, Pyrocat HD and Rodinal. OK, I will mix Rodinal before I will use it.

I don’t know why I started this series and why I am digging so deeply, but with my vlogs I want to learn too, so I am curious to see how FX-1 and Pyrocat will do in comparison to my usual film developing choice D-76. I am not sure if somebody is interested in that, but if I started it, I will also finish it. Hopefully in my next vlog this will be done.

But of course, I will keep on shooting and I will learn new things.

Hospital in the middle of woodland? Topshit Photography Vlog #57

In this episode of Topshit Photography vlog, I’m taking you with me to my favourite place on the planet, woodland of Kočevski rog in the middle of Slovenia. I also did a film test with Hasselblad xPan, but that’s not impressive at all. The size of that bear was really impressive. Anyway I’ll develop those rolls in different developers and see what’s the difference. Expect the unexpected, because topshit happens!

OK, finally here is the second part of my research on the most famous developer Kodak D-76 also sold as Ilford ID-11. It took me way too much time and energy and resources, but I am happy with the results and I believe this case will shine some light and inspiration for younger generations of photographers who would like to work in analogue photography.

An apocalypse and a Woodland Beyond Photography 2017 event

In this vlog I’m publishing two major things that happened to me. One is an ecological catastrophe when a recycling centre Ekosistemi caught fire. About half a million tons of plastic burned. I’m living about a kilometre away and we had to move away for two days until air came back. The drone shots were done illegally, without permission of authorities by my friend Manfred von Richthofen and the images were used by police, national TV, commercial TV, and almost all national newspapers and on-line media. On FB those images were shared more then 1000 times. Images were free of charge as long as the publication is dealing with the catastrophic event and about raising ecological awareness.

Second thing was the Woodland Beyond Photography event. This time was the second year in a row that we organised an artist retreat deep in woodland where we created what we do best – ART. It was great time away from civilisation, enjoying art and socialising. Next year we will make five day event, so book the dates between 25th and 29th of July 2018!
